Card Games Guide

Card Games appeared long ago. A lot of countries claim to have given birth to card games, but China surely predominates. Patterns of the first faces of cards differed greatly from those modern.  There were flowers, birds, kings and emperors depicted on them, as well as swords and beautiful ladies. Time went on and little by little card design has changed. But if you think that now there is one standard deck you are wrong. Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Japan and some other countries have a bit different cards, but this fact doesn't stand in the way of players to enjoy numerous card games.

The variety of card games can confuse a beginner, if there is any. The matter is that card games are meant for various players and designed for certain purposes. There are a lot of card games oriented towards the interests and mental developments of kids, as well as some card games are played by adults only. Both kids and parents can take part in family games, e. g. Monopoly.

Card games can be single or multi player ones. Sounds strange, but each one has played both of the kinds. For example have you played solitaire card game? Bet, you have. This is a true single player card game. Yet there are some new kinds of the game that is played in a group.

There are a lot of interesting facts about card games: shuffling, performing tricks, dealing, and of course winning. Unfortunately there is always room for losing, when you don't know card game rules. But there are no common rules that will do for all the card games. Rummy-style card games require players to combine certain sets and ranks of cards, while fishing card games hint that a player needs to find pairs. Shedding card games are the contrary of accumulating ones. The nature of any card game can be grasped of its name, e. g. Gin rummy, Screw your neighbor; unless this is a complicated game. Bridge card games have nothing to do with bridges over rivers or bays .

There are some people who are sure that card games are a poor hobby, that reading is much better. But don't go to extremes. Tastes differ. In fact even those people who don't like playing card games refer  to them very often without realizing this. You can hear someone saying, 'I hold all the aces'. Aces are the highest rank cards, and the expression means to have all the advantages. Do you know that the faces of cards should be hidden so that other players couldn't catch a glimpse of them? So, have you heard such an expression 'keep  your cards close to your chest'? And what about playing cards right? Or maybe you have another card up your sleeve? Card games gave origins to these expressions as well as hundreds of others that have now become an integral part of a commonly used vocabulary.

Card games are popular: this is the truth.
